Dryad by Papillon is green, mossy, rich and very bohémien chic. The fragrance refers to mythical forest nymphs, and as the name suggests, it is a romantic green chypre with a slight retro feel. The perfume opens with vibrant galbanum and soft bergamot. After that, sweet herbed narcissus nestles and apricot and cedrat give warmth to the soft mossy, woody base.

Liz Moores was inspired to make this fragrance by a poem that her daughter Jasmin wrote:
“…..My body is swelling with the oak’s root and seed
Our veins and our vines weave together with ease,
And as your chatter dispels at the shake of our leaves,
You set your ear to our chest, to hear the whisper of trees.
We rise not in your throat, nor your mouth, nor your teeth.
But we streak coloured streams set to dazzle.”

Bergamot, Orange blossom, Styrax, Cedrat, Thyme, Oakmoss, Galbanum, Apricot, Benzoin, Orris, Lavender, Narcissus, Vetiver

Papillon was founded by perfumer Liz Moores in England in 2011. Her fragrances will take you from the mundane to the extraordinary. It is the ultimate expression of luxury, her perfumes are sensual, seductive, glamorous and revealing. Liz uses a high concentration of pure perfume extraits in her creations. “When creating a perfume, I think of colours, textures and places. I imagine the people who may wear the fragrance and hope that the perfume will help them conjure their own unique and personal allusions.” - Liz Moores

Chypre

A classic chypre is characterized by top notes of citrus, often bergamot; a full-floral heart, like jasmine and rose; and mossy, woody notes in the base, such as patchouli, oak moss, and labdanum. For those who appreciate fragranced complexity and layered compositions, chypres are very exciting and worthwhile to explore!

Addictive
It's a very personal green-floral perfume, opening with an enchanting narcissus, very delicate and feminine, that slowly morphs in a deep, warm, oakmoss drydown. Around these extremes the scent evolves in rich notes, powerful and yet very soft. It reminds me of the best Chanel, like No. 19 and Cristalle - but Dryad's natural composition makes it a magical spell that blends and melts perfectly with one's skin. In my view, Liz Moore is with Hiram Green one of the greatest contemporary "noses", not only in natural perfumery, but in perfumery, full stop. Their creations are so complex, elegant but never pretentious, true art. All their perfumes are so well done that it's difficult to choose. And on top of that, Perfume Lounge provides a great service, professional, really kind and with a personal touch! Thank you.
