Coeur de Noir by BeauFort London is warm, deep and dark with lots of leather. “Here we consider the relationship between the sea and the art it has inspired”, according to Leo Crabtree (founder BeauFort London. Pen and ink drawings of yachts, old libraries of nautical fiction and tattoos are all referenced here in this warm, dark fragrance. Accords of black ink dominate; west Indian spiced rum; papers lost and found; the familiar dry accords of leather bound books balanced with warm enigmatic notes of vanilla pipe tobacco. All finely based around a dark heart of birch tar and labdanum.

Niche perfume brand BeauFort London is founded by musician Leo Crabtree (drummer in the famous band The Prodigy). Each BeauFort fragrance has its own powerful character, often with a dark smoky character. Leo found the inspiration for his fragrances in the rich naval history of the United Kingdom. But not only the nice heroic parts of these stories are depicted, also the warfare (gunpowder, rum and blood), trade and explorations found their way into the fragrances. He designed the fragrances in close collaboration with Julie Marlowe, Julie Dunkley and Pia Long.
