What is guaiac wood?
Guaiac is a tree that grows in South America, along the borders of Argentina, Bolivia and Paraguay. The heartwood of this tree is darker in color than the younger outer rings, varying from colors black, brown to (olive) greenish streaks. A trade name for this type of wood is also called verawood and palo santo, which stands for “sacred wood” in Spanish.
