Labdanum in parfums
The fragrance of labdanum is rich, full, balsamic and warm. It is reminiscent of the scent of wood, leather and is slightly incensy, animalic, and intimate. Labdanum is a dark, sticky, waxy substance which comes from the cystus bush.
Labdanum is frequently used in perfumes together with vanilla, to create a warm, sensual amber accord. This rich ingredient can also often be found in the classic chypres.
