Grandiflora

“To create a perfume offers the challenge of paying homage to natural beauty in another medium. To re-create and interpret the scent of a flower is rather like telling a story about my passion for the mystery of an elusive flower”. - Saskia Havekes

Grandiflora is the brainchild of the internationally acclaimed florist, author and owner of the tiny flower shop Grandiflora, Saskia Havekes. After stretching the boundaries of floral arrangements, which she raised to an art form, she launched Grandiflora Fragrance in 2013. For Saskia the chance as a florist “to create a perfume offers the challenge of paying homage to natural beauty in another medium. To re-create and interpret the scent of a flower is rather like telling a story about my passion for the mystery of an elusive flower”.

Saskia has always been attracted to transient scented flowers, whose short-lived blooms burst with fragrance. With her debut perfume she wanted to pay homage to her ‘heaven flower’, Magnolia Grandiflora, which has been interpreted by two different perfumers in Sandrine and Michel. But be sure to also try her Madagascan jasmine, Queen of the Night inspired by the elusive night flowering cactus and Boronia after the native Australian flowering bush.

For the five fragrances she has worked with great perfumers such as Sandrine Videault, Michel Roudnitska and for the last two fragrances Queen of the Night and Boronia, Bertrand Duchaufour.
